Shield Round 11: Ringwood
This was your last chance to do the final program events. Hope you all managed to qualify in your chosen events. Our numbers were down due to long weekend and school holidays. Sorry no photos as our photographer was one of those away.

Shield Round 10: Box Hill
The new rolled around and the next shield comp was close behind. Saturday was program 2 and there was a low turn out across the board at Collingwood. The 40+ men could only manage 3rd and could now miss out on the finals if we do not win one of the last two rounds. Many other teams are close to final qualifications. Come on Harriers let start the new year with a solid turn up at the last two shield comps for the season.

A very warm and muggy day greated athletesat Ringwood for the final shield comp for 2011. It will be back in the new year and we need all the athletes we can muster for the final 3 rounds and finals. If you have not competed in 3 rounds you can still make finals by attending the next 3.
Pictures are on face book and will be loaded in Flickr and here soon.

After a few wet weeks it was great to have a dry day at Doncaster, some of us even got sun burned.
More womens 40+ club records tumbled. Poor Griffo is having trouble keeping the record file updated.

Well I am not sure how we managed , but it cleared at Box Hill and we managed the entire program of events, minus discus and javelin.
Results are posted on AV website. Well done to our FU18 girls on their 1st win for the season. Also wins to F40+, MU14 and M40+ (but M40+ might end up being 2nd due to a discrepancy). FU14 were 2nd, which is a good result for them. MU16 were also 2nd, missing 1st place by just 3 points - just one of the guys doing the 1500m or a 2nd long jumper would've secured the win. Similar story with the FU16, who were 3rd, missing 2nd place by just 4 points - an extra event being done by one or two of the girls might've resulted in the win (and definitely 2nd). There's a couple of premierships there for the taking if you want your team to win one guys!

Shield round 5 was cancelled due to rain.
Shield Round 4
We had a great day at Doncaster and a bgood Collingwood turn out.
This was the first steeple chase this summer and a ;ot of juniors gave it a go. Well done to all who took part and finished.

Shield Round 2
We were lucky Saturday, it rained before and after shield comp.
The threat of bad weather looked to have kept many away. Remember AV will send an SMS out if competition is cancelled. No SMS please come along as they will try run the days events.
The 40+ women had another another great day with several more mums helping fill the ranks, they even out numbered the 40+ men!
So we need all athletes to attand when ever possible. The 40+ men struggled with 6 atheletes to fill all events.

An overcast day greated athletes for round 1 of this years summer comp. Results are yet to go up on the AV website. Comments and pitures are on our facebook page and also here: Round 1 photos.
We had a reasonable showing of athletes and hope to see greater numbers every week from now on.
We all wish Peter Neale a fast recovery from his nasty fall at the end of the relay. Broken ankle, fibia and ribs...... Ouch.
